Application Instructions  

STEP 1: Fill out the student application                                                                                       

DCECHS application window opens January 2026 and applications due by March (Specific date TBD). Tell your School Counselor if you are interested. Applications and other requirements are available through our website.

STEP 2: You should receive an email confirmation with your application attached. If you do not receive email confirmation please contact Cat Pritchard at PritchardC@davie.k12.nc.us as soon as possible. The last section of the google form will prompt you to provide the names of three teachers who will provide feedback as part of your application. This needs to be two core teachers (math, ELA, science, social studies) and one core/encore teacher. The purpose of this feedback form is to get first-hand information from teachers about your personal character, work ethic and academic ability in the classroom. This information will be used to help the committee make an informed decision on placement.

STEP 3: Teacher Feedback deadline:  (TBD for 2026-2027 School Year)

STEP 4: Committee Meetings (follow-up with middle schools) and Student Placement Decisions: March

Step 5: DCECHS Final invitations will be sent out by April

STEP 6: Student acceptance or decline of placement: Final date to accept or reject offer to attend is May

Freshman Orientation for students and parents will be in May from 5:30 - 6:30 at the Early College (specific date TBD). More details about this event will be sent students, parents, and schools in late April.
